Self sprouting beans!! Looks like I didn’t

Self sprouting beans!! Looks like I didn’t collect all the dried seeds last year! These are an heirloom variety called Preston, that I got from Seedsavers about 25 years ago and have grown and saved them ever since. They are a reliable little bush bean that also adapted over the years to my garden’s increasing shade, a wonderful example of how seeds saved means these plants become suited to local conditions! Now they have to adapt all over again as the garden has been opened up to more sun with the passing of the old apricot tree.
