We are excited to share some images of this project which involved customising large numbers of signs for a Queensland community group, for an extensive bush food garden in the Moreton Island region.  We have loved collaborating with Running Wild to incorporate indigenous Jandai words with permission from local elders, as well as the Running Wild logo, and the group’s photos, to create these bespoke signs for the group to use. We enjoyed learning about a whole new set of plants from South East Queensland, such as the highly ornamental Peanut Tree, below. Some of these plants are now added into our sign range, using our photos, such as Sweet Wattle, Native Tamarind and Riberry.

The Peanut Tree is an amazing looking plant with edible seeds and medicinal uses.

Above are a selection of the signs we have created in colaboration with Running Wild. The bespoke aspects of the signs include a QR code link for the group to have additional information on their website, the Running Wild logo and the local indigenous plant name. Running Wild sought permission for the use of Jandai plant names and to use particular information.

Our ‘Welcome to the Bushfood Garden’ sign has been customised for this group, including

  • Garden name
  • Logo
  • Indigenous country name
  • Choice of plant photos to represent this garden
