Product Details

A native edible Australian bush tucker plant with fruits ripening in late summer. This is one of the easiest bush food fruits to grow in Melbourne or Victoria, able to be grown as a light climber or as a scrambling shrub. In my Melbourne garden I have trained this as a light climber up a metal trellis, it shows off the plant and makes picking the fruit so much easier.

  • Light climber to 1.5 m high or sprawling shrub to 1.5 m wide
  • Hardy plant, drought tolerant once established.
  • Grows in full sun to part shade.
  • Fruit which ripens in February tastes like spiced pear / apple.
  • Evergreen
  • Can be grown as a ground cover, climber or in a hanging pot.

There are a limited number of these plants for sale in 50mm square plastic tubes.

Plant orders are shipped via express post early in the week so the plant arrives in the best possible condition and is not left over the weekend in a transport depot.

Please unpack as soon as possible and water well.

Billardiera scandens is also called: Appleberry, Apple berry, Apple dumpling plant

Note: due to quarantine restrictions we are unable to post plants to Tasmania and WA.
