Product Details

Edible native bushfood with nice neat upright leaves and spikes of bright yellow flowers. Allow to grow and mature for a couple of years before harvesting underground corms which may be roasted. We enjoyed this roasted at the Merri creek yam daisy celebration several years ago.

I really like bulbine lilies, the tubers are large and reliable

  • Bright green flesh leaves 30 – 60 cm high with striking yellow flowers from spring to early summer. Plants die down after flowering, re-emerging in autumn, tolerates frost.
  • Plant in rich well-drained soil and water regularly while actively growing.
  • Able to be grown in a pot.
  • Label plants to avoid losing them when dormant.
  • Edible tubers.
  • Grows in full sun to part shade.
  • Makes a beautiful cut flower
  • Attracts native bees, mass plant near a seating area for easy observation

There are a limited number of these plants for sale in 50mm square plastic tubes.

Plant orders are shipped via express post early in the week so the plant arrives in the best possible condition and is not left over the weekend in a transport depot.

Please unpack as soon as possible and water well.
