Product Details

'Minor' Lilly Pilly is a slow growing shrub to 4m x 4m, responds well to hedging and is great as an evergreen screening plant, growing in full sun to part shade. Suitable for growing in a pot, where it can be kept smaller. The small fluffy white flowers in spring are attractive to a range of insects and birds. The flowers develop into pink/mauve edible fruits in autumn. The new leaves are an attractive bronze and the mature leaves are a glossy dark green.

Tolerant of a wide variety of soils. Relatively drought tolerant but prefers to have regular watering. Prune after fruiting to keep plants bushy.

The fruit is light, crunchy, juicy and tart, tasting of clove and cranberry. Eat raw, removing the large seed, add to salads or fruit salads, preserve as jam, cordial or pickles, or add to slow cooked meals.
Acmena smithii has been reclassified as Syzygium smithii.

Plants are shipped via express post early in the week so the plant arrives in the best possible condition and is not left over the weekend in a transport depot.

Please unpack as soon as possible and water well.

Note: due to quarantine restrictions we are unable to post plants to Tasmania, NT, SA and WA.
