Product Details
Very hardy evergreen strappy foliage plant to 1 m high and wide. Tolerates a variety of soil types and conditions, from dry soil to temporary inundation, growing in full sun or full shade. Flowers are sweetly scented but prickly so can be removed if needed.
Young leaves can be plucked, and the white bases chewed for their pea-like taste. Flowers can be soaked in water to extract their nectar. Ripe seeds can be ground and added to breads or baking. Leaves are used for weaving by First Australians.
