One of our favourite plants for dry shaded areas in the garden, and very rarely for sale. Decorative and hardy, Iris foetidissima grows well in shady areas of the garden.The leaves are green, lush and need little attention. Unlike other irises the decorative orange seeds remain a feature from autumn into winter providing a pop of colour at this time of year. This plant grows well in shade, although flowering better with some dappled light, and copes with dry conditions so is ideal for growing under deciduous trees.
This iris has ephemeral yellow flowers in mid spring, this plants highlights are it's lush green foliage and orange seed pods in autumn.
The iris plant is shipped bare rooted. The leaves are clipped as in the photos so that when it is newly planted the iris will be more stable and less likely to blow over in windy weather.
Plant orders are shipped via express post early in the week so the plant arrives in the best possible condition and is not left over the weekend in a transport depot.
Please unpack as soon as possible and water well.
