Tolerates drying out but grows and fruits best with regular watering. Prune after fruiting to keep bushy. Resistant to leaf damaging psyllid pests. Good hedge and screening plant.
Clusters of round, pink-red fruits ripening summer and are considered to be the tastiest Lilly Pillies. They are juicy, crunchy, and tart, tasting of clove and cranberry. Eat raw, removing large seed, add to salad or fruit salad, preserve as jam, cordial, or pickles, or add to slow cooked meals.
